CAMERA INDEX Minolta SRT-101b The Minolta SRT-101 is a bit of a legendary camera. Both because of it's (for the time) innovative and technically advanced design, but also because of it's quality and capacity to take great pictures. I just love all-metal SLR:s. After using one of those, a new plastic DSLR feels like a childrens toy... And since i'm a Minolta user i just had to have one of these. I had been looking for a suitable SRT-101 for quite a while, but the ones in mint condition were very expensive. Most of the cheap ones didn't work at all. Finally i settled for an SRT-101b that had some cosmetic flaws (as you can see in the pictures below), but that was in working order. The SRT-101 is a very nice camera to work with. It's heavy, but not too heavy, it feels very solid and it is intuitive to handle. The CDS-metering seems to be working perfectly and setting the aperture/shutter speed is a breeze with the indicators in the viewfinder. And the viewfinder also has to be mentioned, it's huge and very bright. I would pay a LOT of money to have a DSLR with a finder this big and bright. I have taken one roll of film with this camera as of yet, but unfortunately something went wrong with the film transport and when i opened the back the film was not wound as it should. So the light ruined the film... Not the first time it's happened, but irritating nonetheless. I will update with photos as soon as i have used this camera more. Camera data
