CAMERA INDEX Ensign Ful-Vue The Ensign Ful-Vue is one of two box cameras that i own. I bought it mostly because i thought it had a really cool look. It's from the mid 1940's and a british design. Despite it's looks it's basically a traditional box camera. That is, a light-sealed box with a simple film movement, a simple shutter and a lens opening for exposure. The camera is fix focus from between 3 meters to infinity. By pulling the lens out from the body you can focus as close as one meter, but as the finder is uncoupled it's just guess work. Mostly the camera relies on the fact that at f8 much of the frame will be in focus. The finder is a big ground-glass screen on top of the camera. The camera itself is very compact and quite light. Of course it's a very simple design and the lack of internal components makes for a simple, efficient and light camera. I haven't actually used mine with film but i have opened it and everything seems to be in working order. The shutter fires, the film transport works and as far as i can see the housing seems to be in good order. I have seen photos from this camera on the web and aside from it's limitations it is capable of decent photos. Camera data
