About the website
This is my private and personal website. It has had more lives, designs and contents than I care to remember. The site was first put on the web around 1997 and i got my own domain name sometime in 2001. At first as a free domain and then hosted at a regular webhost. Through the years i this site has been home to a lot of different things. Everything from unauthorized (and one authorized) band pages for metal bands that i liked, to blogs and party photos and a promotional site for my own webdesign business (now defunct). You might say that most things I've fancied have shown up here in some form or another. I've never been too personal or private though, and that is also why you don't see many people in my photos. Of course i take photos of friends and loved ones as well, but those i tend to keep to myself.

Aside from being filled with my personal stuff this website is also "mine" in the regard that I have made all of it myself. All the photos are taken by me (unless otherwise stated), all the code is written by me and the graphics (the little there is) is made by me. This means that the webpage technically is a dinosaur. But i prefer that to using templates or letting someone else do it for me. This webpage is a hobby just like my photos and doing everything for myself is half the fun. So don't complain about the HTML and the buggy CSS, it's there because it's the best i can do and that will have to be enough on MY website. That said, if you see any obvious problems and have a solution, drop me a line. Of course i want everything to work, such as it is.

About me
My name is Mattias Petersson (which explains the mpetersson) and when i write this i am 30 years old, going on 31. I live in Stockholm, Sweden where I have lived my entire life, although in a few different parts of town. I have a degree from Stockholm university with a major in Political Science. I have also studied geography, economics and a few other subjects. The last few years I have been working as a translator/subtitler for TV and film. I am currently seeking new opportunities in other fields, preferrably something where i get a chance to use my university degree a bit more.

As you can probably tell from my site my main hobby is photography and cameras. I also love to travel and do so as often as i can afford to. I am what we in Sweden call "sambo" which means that I have a girlfriend and that we live together, but we're not married. We have been together since 2004.
